French Louis XVI-style Mirror

$ 4,800
  • Description
    Abundant emblems representing the monarchy and the French Republic decorate the frame of this Louis XVI mirror. Three-dimensional figures project from the top as finials of sheaths of wheat and a magnificent wreath ornament at center that incorporates a bow and arrow, all held together by a ribbon. The likely original mirror plate is outlined with a beveled edge and surrounded by a frame with multiple ornate carving styles. Adorning the left and right stiles are cartouche forms with garlands and torches. View the detailed images.
