Description
Federal Inlaid Oval-Top Pembroke Table in Untouched Condition
Probably Rhode Island, circa 1790
Mahogany, light wood inlays, white pine, original iron hinges and brass bail handles, original finish, 29 ¾ x 20 ¼ x 36 ¼ inches.
With its line inlaid legs, this is a simplified version of a Rhode Island Federal Pembroke table. The oval top with distinctive molded edge and husk inlays are hallmarks of its Rhode Island origin.
Its desirability is raised to a connoisseur’s level by its wonderful untouched condition and fine dry surface. -
