Description
A FINE AND UNUSUAL SET OF FOUR MAHOGANY AND GILTWOOD BENCHES
Possibly Russian. Circa 1815.
Measurements
Height: 34 3/4" (88cm)
Width: 59 1/2" (151cm)
Depth: 19 1/2" (50cm)
Research
Of mahogany, parcel gilt with gilt bronze mounts. Each with a shaped top rail mounted with gilt rosettes and stiff leaf decoration, the open back filled with crossed arrows centered by a roundel mounted with a gilt floral wreath. The whole flanked by scrolling downswept arms, the plain frieze flanked by stiff leaf decoration, the whole raised on four outswept saber scrolling legs.
