Louis XV Walnut Cabinet or Bonnetiere, c. 1770
-
Description
This is a charming period Louis XV provincial walnut cabinet or bonnetiere. This cabinet has a uncommon configuration with two drawers separating the two storage sections. The bonnetiere is detailed with flower and shell carvings to the upper panel and a well-defined clam shell carving to the scolloped bottom skirt. The bonnetiere is in very good overall condition with desirable anticipated patination. There is a bit a restoration to the cornice and the keys are lacking. This would make a great addition to a kitchen, bedroom or dressing room or study--it's ready for it's next 200 years of use.
