This is a superb pair of Levantine or Syrian corner chairs that date to the the late 19th or early 20th century. The chairs have been ebonized and retain their original multitude of hand turned spindles. The chairs have been upholstered in an ivory silk that remains in excellent condition. These are statement chairs that would be eye-catchers in multiple design settings from 19th century Aesthetic Movement to sculptural elements in a mid-century room.
