Floor Lamp in Murano attr. to Carlo Nason, Italy 1970s
-
Description
This floor lamp, likely designed by Carlo Nason for AV Mazzega, highlights the simplicity and skill of Murano glasswork. Combining form and function, it serves as both a light source and a visual centerpiece. The lamp is made of five Murano glass pieces.
Design
The three lower conical sections are crafted from lattimo Murano glass, a white, opaque material. These conical parts are stacked, forming a solid, tapering base. The central spherical piece features a mix of transparent glass with irregular white spots, creating a contrast in texture. The top piece, also made of lattimo glass, completes the structure with a rounded form.Fitted with three E27 bulbs, the lamp gives off a soft, ambient light when turned on, illuminating its glass components. The design balances aesthetics and practicality, offering a simple yet striking addition to any space. This lamp demonstrates the lasting appeal of Murano glass and the thoughtful design associated with Carlo Nason's work for AV Mazzega.
