Description
This hand crafted cocktail shaker has a scalloped body. It is accompanied by a matching tray also with scalloped edges. The design is reminescent of a cocktail shaker and tray by the Danish silversmitht Kay Fisher. Reyes began his career when he was just ten years old, fanning the bellows for silver smelters at the Platería Maciel in Mexico City. In 1935, Reyes opened his own workshop in the Platería del Recreo, focusing on holloware and flatware. As evident with this finely executed cocktail shaker and tray, Reyes was skilled at producing silver with a Danish modern appearance. The tray measures 8.5 in. diameter x .75 in. tall.
