Mid-Century highboy dresser/chest of drawers, model #5273A, designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar (ca. 1950s, USA).
Composed of a rich walnut-stained mahogany chest (Dunbar factory finish 'Malabar' #48) with discreet bentwood drawer pulls, all supported by the original rosewood tapered feet.
Ample storage with seven drawers that gradually increase in height.
The unobtrusive end placement of the bentwood drawer pulls provides an unobstructed view of the mahogany grain possessing such vibrance that it appears to move as it is surveyed from different angles (what we call "action").
Retains the Dunbar metal medallion to the top left drawer.
Very good, conservatively refinished condition with only light wear remaining.
Sourced from the original owner who purchased this in 1955 along with other Dunbar pieces from the E. 63rd Street NYC showroom.
Receipt from the Dunbar showroom included upon request.
Long dresser along with other Dunbar pieces from the collection listed separately.
