    A fragile pottery painted statue of Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico, 19th century. With losses and repairs. 1832–67, born Austrian Archduke Ferdinand, appointed Emperor of Mexico by Napoleon III to establish monarchy in Mexico. Reigned 1864–67 and was executed by firing squad in 1867.
