Erik Møller sofa
-
Description
A freestanding three-seater sofa by Erik Møller. The sofa stands on round, beech legs and has a blue wool buttoned upholstery. It was used in Erik Møller’s own home and was designed in the period when the city hall of Århus was built (1937 - 1941), which he designed with Arne Jacobsen.
Whether the sofa was designed by Erik Møller himself or if Arne Jacobsen was involved is not clear. However, the design of sofa is reminiscent of Jacobsen’s sofa for the Rothenborg House and also the furniture he designed for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition together with Flemming Lassen in 1932. -
