Description
Dutch modernist chairs, designed by Wim Den Boon in the 1950s, crafted from solid oak with original vinyl upholstery. They showcase Den Boon’s dedication to both quality and innovation, hallmarks of his influential role in Dutch design. These chairs, sourced directly from Den Boon’s personal residence, offer not only an embodiment of his craftsmanship but also a piece of design history. With only two available, they present a rare chance to own original works from a leading figure of early Dutch modernism. Priced individually.
Den Boon started his career as a draftsman for architects, and in 1929, he joined the De Stijl group. He worked closely with Gerrit Rietveld, contributing to iconic designs such as the famous Red and Blue chair. In 1948, Den Boon co-founded the architectural collective Groep 32 with other former members of De Stijl. His talents extended beyond architecture, as he also designed furniture, lighting, and objects for companies like Leerdam Glass. -
