Mid Century Modern Sideboard by Erno Fabry, Italy, 1950s
-
Description
Mid Century Modern Sideboard Credenza by Erno Fabry for Fabry Associates, walnut with inset bronze details and sabots. Three swing doors reveal two one-shelf cabinet spaces and four interior drawers for dining service and cutlery. Drawers lined in grey felt. Fully restored and polished. The frame has a delicate arc from corners to the center, giving the cabinet's frame a soft organic shape. The origin of this piece is a bit mysterious to us, since Erno Fabry emigrated from his Czech homeland to the United States, but fabricated cabinets in Europe. Some online examples of this sideboard describe its origin as Italy while others indicate West Germany. The craftsmanship and inset bronze details indicate to us this particular cabinet was made in Italy.
