Description
A classic Louis XIV period mirror in the manner of Jean Bérain. Original mercury mirror plates, naturally aged to a soft pewter tone, still retaining its beautiful reflective quality. Carved pediment with leaf motif, marginal glass borders of beveled glass framing the central rectangular mirror plate. Provenance: Private Collection, Paris | Cornette de saint Cyr sale 1994, lot 46. Circa 1700.
