    Majestic carved wood Lion head, with applied gesso and gilt, this stunning decorative element dates to the 18th century, most likely from Northern Italy. Deeply carved lions face and mane, in it's mouth it holds a ring and fabric swag. Hanging loop to the rear so it can be wall mounted.



    Great size, and time worn patina to areas of the gilt and gesso.
