Emile Gilioli, born June 10, 1911 in Paris and died January 19, 1977 in Paris, is a French sculptor.
He is one of the representatives of abstract sculpture. Extreme rigor with lyrical accents, geometric simplification are recurrent in his work. Two characteristics often recur: the balanced circle and the broken line, which we find in this refined tapestry. We recognize the character of the drawings he made before working the stone, "the pure geometry of volume" which characterizes the sculptor's work. -
