Rare Chiseled Glass Floor Lamp by Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte, Italy, c.1935
-
Description
A rare, chiseled and polished glass floor lamp designed by Pietro Chiesa, Italy, c.1935. This early design by Fontana Arte has a thick 'scalpellato' (chiseled) glass stem and sits on a rectangular glass base with four brass feet. A frosted glass 'cut-out' running through the centre and length of the stem cleverly conceals the internal metal support and wiring. An elegant and timeless piece from this eminent Milanese glass company. (A recently manufactured card and silk tapered shade is included with this vintage floor lamp).
