Description
Halogen floor lamp in painted metal with an adjustable diffuser, model Zagar, designed by Sergio Carpani, produced by Stilnovo, 1978.
This halogen floor lamp, produced by Stilnovo in the 1980s, perfectly embodies the style of the era. Always attuned to the cultural movements of the time, Stilnovo - a Milan-based company founded in 1946 - has consistently distinguished itself through its innovative approach.
The lamp presented here features a tall, tapered stem that emphasizes its verticality, lending the object an elegant and dynamic aesthetic. The design is punctuated by two standout elements: the painted tubular base and the adjustable diffuser equipped with a distinctive mechanism.
The result is a versatile lamp with a strong personality, ideal for creating atmospheric lighting in a minimalist domestic setting. Designed by Sergio Carpani, the Zagar lamp received a special mention at the 1978 edition of the Compasso d’Oro. Carpani’s career also extended to graphic design, where he made significant contributions, including a contemporary redesign of the logo and visual identity for the Ferrovie Nord Milanesi railway network.
