    An elegantly appointed Italian walnut console table attributed to designer Paolo Buffa; the spectacular shaped marble top rests on a gently curved apron comprising three drawers with delicate brass handles, atop graceful square tapered legs with brass decoration at the top and ending in brass sabots.

    Paolo Buffa (b. 1903, Milan – d. 1970) was a highly sought after Italian furniture designer, renowned for executing designs pairing elements of the opulent Neoclassical period with streamlined Art Deco style, resulting in pieces that exhibited a glamorous, old-world, yet modern aesthetic.

    Condition: Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Small chip on marble on the right hand side, about 1/4 of the way in from the front. Hardly discernable to the eye and blends in with the marble grain, Wood is in very good condition.
