Mid-Century Itsu Ceiling Pendant Model ER 62/3 in Brass & Fabric, Finland 1950s
-
Description
A stunning and very rare Finnish mid-century ceiling lamp by Itsu, one of the leading lighting manufacturers in Finland. The lamp is in its absolute original condition with original fabric shades. The lamp features three light bases pointing upwards with an umbrella like oposite shade reflecting part of the light down. Due to the peach colour of the fabric, the lamp gives a warm colour around the interior.
The item is stamped "Itsu" and model number.
The brass parts have a beautiful patina and the shades are in good condition with some natural spotting on the top part of the shade which is consistent with age. Please see photos.
Itsu was one of the leading light fixture manufacturing companies and a daughter company of Idman. Along with companies like Taito Oy, Idman and Orno they defined what Finnish design lamps would become. Itsu made high quality lamps and produced lamps for major projects, including some of Alvar Aalto's projects like the Aalto University. -
