French 19th Century Solid Walnut Commode

    A stately walnut commode from France, circa 1830, with Neoclassical and transitional details. Each of the five drawers are inset with polished brass trim around the paneling and shield escutcheons for the (nonoperational) locks. One key is present in the middle-top drawer, nonoperational. In the top row are two small drawers flanking a slighter wider drawer. Below, two wide drawers offer elegant storage for clothes, linens, or other household essentials. Fluted pilasters on the sides transition to squared and tapering legs. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax this antique dresser is ready for your interior.
