    Comes with its original fitted paulownia-wood tomobako storage box inscribed Tamatsunagimon robyō (Hearth Screen with Pearl Necklace Motif), signed and sealed Chikkōsai

    This artist is best known for intricately woven trays, and seems to have been active in the early twentieth century in the Wada Waichisai/Ezono Kōichisai lineage. However, this piece was surely created in the second half of the 20th century.
