Description
Federal Grain Paint-Decorated Chest of Drawers
Probably Vermont or Maine, ca. 1810-1820.
Maple, yellow and white pine.
Over-all in fine condition, original painted finish and brass pulls. Minor in-painting to the ends of the feet.
Provenance: The Estate of Peter H. Tillou, Litchfield, CT.
This bold, grain-painted chest of drawers features exuberant decoration. The drawer fronts are further accentuated with border highlights. Raised raised on gracefully splayed feet above a swooping valance.
