Pair of Bird-Cage Windsors
New England, probably Rhode Island, ca. 1800-1820.
Mixed woods, black painted surfaces.
Great condition, no repairs or replacements, expected wear, Victorian black painted surface over original paint.
Standing tall, this pleasing pair of bamboo-turned Windsor chairs have flared backs above shaped plank seats supported by splayed, turned legs with stretchers. Sculpturally beautiful and structurally sound.
