Pair of George Nelson for Herman Miller 5-Drawer Chests Primavera Basic Series
-
Description
Rare pair of cabinets or chests made by Herman Miller in the early 1950s and designed by American design icon George Nelson. Each cabinet features primavera construction, a form of bleached mahogany that takes on the color of golden maple but provides an interesting and smooth grain pattern. Great design adds to the appeal, with an inward beveled edge, even on all four sides. Large drawers add to the functionality, and the cupcake style drawer pulls are unique and add the perfect amount of warmth to the design with their domed look. One cabinet features a door on the right side, while the other features 5 full-width drawers. Set on black wood bases. Signed with foil labels on the drawers, dating these pieces to 1951-1956. Also signed with an aluminum coin style logo in a drawer.
