Description
A papier mâché tray of the Battle of Erie by Jennens & Bettridge, 1817, of rectangular form with an everted lip, painted with a naval battle scene, a paper label on the reverse states ‘Antique English papier mâché tray painted (sic) with a naval engagement between American and British ships, possibly the Battle of Lake Erie tray by ‘Jennens & Bettridge’, circa 1817’ and stamped ‘Jennens & Bettridge’s, London, Birm’m’. English, 1817.
