Anatole Riecke French Art Deco tall black opaline glass red vase 1938
-
Description
This tall Art Deco vase in black opaline glass, with engraved details, red painted decor, and chromed steel pieces add-ons, is signed by the Russian artist Anatole Riecke, and dated 1938. As the Master Glassmaker of La Coupole in Paris, he was responsible for the iconic Art Deco decor of this Parisian hotspot during the 1930s. His characteristic work with opaline glass is apparent here with a Cubist influence in the abstract brutalistic patterns that contrast with the slick black surface of the piece. Chic and timeless, this vase will complement both antique and contemporary settings. It is found in a great vintage condition. This is a really chic and timeless piece. Signed A.Riecke and dated 38.
