French 19th Century Louis Philippe Silver Gilt Mirror

$ 4,995
  • Description
    Dimensions: 53 ¾” H x 39 ⅝” W x 2 ⅜” D

    Underneath the silver gilding of this Louis Philippe period mantel mirror is a lightly carved floral motif in the wood frame for an organic contrast against the cool, metallic texture. The beaded trim around the mirror plate shows a dark patina for additional dimension against the smooth, wide molding. Punctuating the original mirror glass are curious spots of foxing with craquelure texture, mostly concentrated in one trail along the left side that draws the viewer in for a closer look. A historic design to fit in many decorating tastes from modern to layered traditional. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.
