Early circa 1900 Persian Bakhtiari tribal gallery size carpet with vegetable dyed wool, with multi-color on brown black background colors.
The design of the rug is three of life animals and geometric and floral motives.
The Bakhtiari tribe, based in Chahar Mahaal and Bakhtiari, is well known for their rugs and weavings. They have been weaving rugs exported around the globe since the early 19th century.
