Italian Pair of Fruitwood Buffets
-
Description
A substantial pair of Italian buffets, circa 1910, milled from fruitwood and carved with dramatic ebonized detail. Paneled doors and sides are tastefully outlined in ebonized trim, with a striking barley twist carved detail overlapping the doors–additionally punctuated by inset pieces of ebonized wood to indicate escutcheon plates. Each cabinet uses a working lock and key, opening to reveal an adjustable shelf inside, 15” deep, supported by sawtooth brackets. Four turned wood toupie feet support the whole, which are also given a touch of ebonized color to unify the design. Cleaned, tightened, polished with a French paste wax – these fantastic buffet cabinets are ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images.
