    "Alexander Graham Plane" telephone Model 450 designed by John F Tyson for Northern Telecom 1977 in excellent working condition. No scratches or chips on the body, some signs of age and use on the clear "propeller" face plate. Ready to add to your collection of cool MCM objects and if you still have a landline, plug this wonderfully cartoon of a phone in for daily use.

    John Tyson is an industrial designer, inventor, and author of Adventures in Innovation: Inside the Rise and Fall of Nortel, an engaging account of his 35 years with Bell-Northern Research (BNR), and Nortel Networks. John is an accomplished senior executive in product design, R&D, marketing, and advanced technology.

    His principles on user-centered design, innovation, and design-based thinking have been detailed in numerous publications and his work has been featured in museums and galleries including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Art Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Museum of Science and Technology, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and the Toronto Design Exchange (DX). His work has also been featured on two Canadian postage stamps. Tyson designed the famous Contempra phone in 1967 for Bell which was a followup to the Henry Dryfus Princessa phone line helping usher in the 1970s style.
