Nestorio Sacchi: Architectural Dining Table on Sculptural Brass Base, Italy 1950
-
Description
NESTORIO SACCHI ( 1917-2002 )
An exceptional dining table by Italian architect Nestorio Sacchi, in polished fruitwood with a sculptural brass base. The elegantly elongated top tapers in a gentle curve from the center, and is framed in a dark wood trim. It rests on sharply angled, V shaped legs joined by a striking and intricate dimensional truss. The base's arresting architectonic lines are poised at dynamic diagonals, forming a geometric web that contrasts beautifully with the pure plane of the top.
This rare piece is a structural master class, each element perfectly balanced, the composition complex yet strong and vital.
