Charming antique French 20th century painted & patinated bookcase incorporating earlier, 19th century Directoire style elements for a unique and historic look under the weathered white pigment. In this example–along the lines of a buffet a deux corps–the upper body features open shelves between two arches, crowned with a frieze decorated with diamond-shaped panels over each opening. Each shelf is carved in a scalloped edge adding further intrigue to your displays of treasured books and collections. The upper body is set upon a significantly deeper base below, offering five spacious drawers (15 ¼” W x 9 ⅝” D interior dimensions), opening by steel bin pulls. This substantial storage piece is a lovely option for a number of interior decorating tastes, from Gustavian to French Provincial, to layered traditional. Cleaned and tightened, ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images.
