    Maintenon sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1929. Ovoid body on raised foot; helmet mouth and leaf-capped and mounted scroll bracket handle with volute scroll terminal. On body, chased leafing scrollwork and flowers in alternating wide and narrow curvilinear frames. On neck and foot, wide vacant curvilinear frames alternating with rosette-inset narrow ones. Applied leaf-and-dart mouth rim and imbricated-leaf foot rim. A beautiful piece in a desirable pattern. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, date symbol, pattern name, and no. A10216/1. Very good condition.
