Description
George III sterling silver teapot. Made by Peter and Jonathan Bateman in London in London in 1790. Oval bowl with diagonal spout; cover hinged and domed. Stained-wood handle and finial. Engraved lion crest in ribboned oval and leaf-and-flower borders. Modish Neoclassical form and ornament by a noted family workshop. The mark for this Bateman pairing in use for only six months. Fully marked. Very good condition.
