AGUILA, from the 'Brains' collection, light-sculpture
-
Description
'AGUILA', is a light sculpture made in 2024, by Mexican artist Julio Martínez Barnetche, from his 'Brains' collection.
An exceptional piece, displaying a carved 210 g yellow amber from Simojovel, Chiapas, México. A light source in the wooden part, enlightens the amber piece above, held in place by two slim, hand-carved Ciricote wood sticks. Those wooden parts are again held by two forged brass arms. The attention to detail and the elegance of this work are captivating. The amber gem has a size of: 14 x 6 x 4.5 cm / 5 ½ x 2 ⅜ x 1 ¾ “. -
