-
Description
Floor lamp model H801 designed by Viljo Hirvonen, and manufactured by Valaistustyö in Finland in the 1950s. The combination of leather, painted metal and brass works suits really well with this particular lamp. The ability to adjust the height and angle of the light makes this lamp extremely practical. It comes with the Valaistustyö H801 stamp.
Viljo Hirvonen (1916-1975) was infact the founder of Valaistustyö Oy the lighting manufacturer company, which built all of the Aalto lamps up until the 1970s. The final result was usually a joint effort between the designer Alvar Aalto and the constructors. Among other companies like Taito Oy which manufactured Tynell lamps, Valaistustyö helped set the standard for the supreme quality of Finnish design light fixtures. -
