Description
Allow me to introduce your dining room’s new best friends—a set of six French stunners that are equal parts regal, refined, and ridiculously fabulous. These mid-century modern/art deco hybrid chairs are here to turn every dinner party into a soirée to remember.
First, let’s talk about the makeover. We’ve dressed them up in the most decadent chocolate velvet, so rich you’ll feel like you’re dining on dessert before the appetizers even arrive. And those frames? Lightly ebonized mahogany with tapered, cylindrical detailing that’s just chef’s kiss perfect. The legs do all the talking: turned and splayed with sharp, dramatic angles that bring a little edge to the elegance. Oh, and don’t miss the front steel-capped legs—a chic little detail that’s giving “couture meets cool.”
But wait, there’s more! The back legs splay outward like they’re mid-dramatic exit, while the sides of the chairs stretch gracefully upward, topped with round brass finials. It’s the kind of design flourish that whispers royalty but winks at modernity. These finials are the crown jewels of the chairs, and honestly, they’re serving all the “regal-but-relatable” vibes we live for.
Now, let’s take a moment for the backs of the chairs. They extend just slightly higher than the frames and float ever-so-elegantly within, creating a visual lightness that balances out all the luxe details. These aren’t just chairs—they’re poetry in furniture form.
And the pièce de résistance? The original piping, which we salvaged with loving care and tack-nailed back onto the chairs. It’s a little slice of history that ties the whole look together, adding a layer of charm and craftsmanship you won’t find anywhere else.
So, whether you’re hosting a five-course feast or just sitting down for a late-night glass of wine, these French beauties will make every moment feel a little more extra. They’re rare, they’re refined, and they’re ready to turn heads in your home. Bon appétit!
These chairs would look excellent in any mid century modern, modern or deco styled home. These chairs are currently paired with a Vittorio Dassi dining table and an Ico Parisi wall unit and it looks spectacular. A Paolo Buffa Lounge and Osvaldo Borsani table would complete the tableau! -
