A wonderful and unusual circa 1800 English George III two compartment tea caddy having rectangular satinwood veneered oak case with Kingwood, boxwood, and ebony inlaid borders and 'Aesop's Fables' themed green-stained boxwood inlay and penwork decoration to the top and front with center ovals of 'The Eagle and the Fox' on top and the front, below lozenge-form bone-inlaid key scutcheon, is that of the mighty lion.
