This very rare floor lamp was designed by Sonja Katzin in the 1950s and produced as model number E 1771 by ASEA Belysning in Sweden. The lamp is stamped with the model number and manufacturer’s details on the bottom of the base.
The elegant design features a circular, organic shaped base in fluted brass, giving the foot texture and depth. The main body consists of two central stems in tubular brass, each leading to a gooseneck-style adjustable brass arm. The shades can be adjusted into various positions, making this a versatile lighting design. The brass shade holders include push-switch buttons, and the tapered shades have been renewed in an ivory, linen-textured fabric.
The lamp is in very good condition, with brass that has developed a natural and even patina. The shades have been renewed. It is currently wired with a 220V European plug.
