Art Deco Theatre Costume Design with Greek Mythological
-
Description
With stylistic confidence, French Artist Georges Lepape created three highly inventive and masterfully imaginative Art Deco figures based on Ancient Greek history. The work was for a theatrical presentation and featured three characters: Éthea, Philigra, and Ops. Each figure was designed to have a distinct visual identity yet still relate to the other figures as a group. They are presented on the page as if lined up on a stage with a seamless background. Text describing them is penciled in below, reflecting avant-garde theatrical aesthetics of the Art et Action movement. Signed lower left and inscribed on verso. Presented in a two-tone stepped wooden rectangular frame. Framed size 30.5 x 22.63
