Carving possibly by John Welch

Secondary Woods: Maple, White Pine

Depth: 26 inches
Reference: The Welch attribution is based on a card table with nearly identical feet and knee carving illustrated in American Furniture, 1996, “The Very Pink of the Mode: Boston Georgian Chairs, Their Export, and Their Influence”, figures 11 and 12. -
