Description
A rare and remarkable rug, hand made in the 1900s. It is in excellent condition, consistent with age and wear.
The rug displays a broad foliate border, with rows of trees, the canopies of which form the central ground. The color palette is fresh, with forest green, sage green, olive green, dusty pink, mauve, garnet, taupe, and ivory.
Charles Francis Annesley Voysey (1857 – 1941) was an Irish architect and furniture, rugs, and textile designer in the Arts & Crafts style. -
