Magnificent Gilded Age Rococo gilt sterling silver wine cooler. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1880. Bellied urn with detachable collar and domed foot encrusted with fruiting grapevines forming supports and handles supporting perched cherubs, ducking to avoid the dangling bunches. Oval frames (vacant) in beaded strapwork surrounds. Engraved curvilinear ornament with leafing scrollwork.

Fully marked including maker’s stamp and director’s letter M (1873-91). Very good condition with nice toning.

Approximate overall dimensions: H 11 3/4 x W 13 1/2 x D 8 1/2 in. Heavy weight: 110 troy ounces. #CA359
