An exceedingly rare and beautiful floor lamp in full brass (rattan on the stem), designed by Gunnel Nyman herself and manufactured by Idman. This particular lamp is very hard to come by and is infact often mistaken as a Tynell due to very little documentation. Even though it is such a rare lamp it comes in such great condition you wouldn't believe we aren't in the 1940s.
Due to the rarity and significance of this piece we have chosen to leave it in original condition and avoid any modifications or replacement parts, only the brass has been polished to give it a more vibrant look.
Gunnel Nyman (1909 – 1948) was a Finnish glass, furniture and metal artist, and one of the founders of modern Finnish glass design. She was also one of the biggest names in th Finnish modern design movement of the early 20th century. Unfortunately, due to her premature death at 39, and eventhough she managed to design numerous beautiful objects, she also left us with a sense of owe and wonder to what she could've designed with a longer career.
