Description
An extendable walnut dining table by George Nakashima for Widdicomb Furniture Company from 1959.
A line of book-matched veneers encased by a 3 inch deep carved and finger joined solid walnut edge gives the top of the table an interesting contrast.
The table measures 48 x 60 inches closed and has (2) 18 inch leaves.
When fully extended the overall dimensions of the table are 48 by 96 inches.
This is the widest oval dining table that George Nakashima designed for Widdicomb as part his Origins line of furniture..
There is a Widdicomb label on the underside of the table and stencils of Sherry and the model number 277.
The table was originally purchased with a set of eight RobsJohn-Gibbings arm chairs in 1959.
The table is in excellent restored condition. -
