Marco Zanuso Pair of Milord armchairs for Arflex in original leather

$ 9,634
  • Description
    This splendid pair of Milord armchairs, designed by Marco Zanuso for Arflex in the 1950s, represents a masterpiece of mid-century Italian design, perfectly balanced between elegance, innovation and functionality. An example of sophisticated design, where comfort meets rigorous form in a continuous dialogue between fine materials and refined construction details.

    The armchairs are made with a solid wood frame, characterized by soft, understated lines that give lightness and harmony to the whole. The design of the legs and frame is designed to ensure stability and refinement, while the enveloping seat invites maximum relaxation.

    Further defining the distinctive character of the armchairs is the backrest, which deviates from the gentle progression of the frame to present a sharper, more rigorous line. This contrast between the softness of the shapes and the well-defined geometry of the backrest gives the armchairs a sculptural aesthetic, capable of expressing a perfect balance between rationality and beauty.

    The seats are upholstered in original leather of the period, preserved in its authentic charm with slight signs of time, scratches and a natural patina of use, which add historical value and authenticity to the piece. The armchairs have been only lightly refinished to keep their vintage identity intact without altering their original personality. A refined detail is the brass pins placed on either side of the backrest, which create an elegant textural contrast and a striking visual detachment, emphasizing the craftsmanship and design thinking typical of Zanuso.

    Like every work signed by Marco Zanuso, these armchairs stand out for their eclectic character, capable of combining harmony, beauty and elegance. Ideal for sophisticated and modern environments, these seats represent not only an icon of Italian design, but also a piece of history, perfect to enrich any space with style and authenticity.
