Armchairs in Rosewood & Boucle, by Martin Eisler for Forma, 1950s - Lot 238-239

$ 28,000
  • Description
    This iteration of the Costela armchair was crafted by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler for Forma in Brazil during the 1950s. It features slabs constructed from restored and refinished rosewood, connected by metal rods and pins. The seat and backrest are exceptionally comfortable, upholstered in a soft boucle fabric that resembles sheepskin.

    The rosewood has been expertly restored to highlight its vibrant, colorful veins, and any rusted pins have been replaced.

    In line with Martin Eisler’s original design, the slats are arranged in a rhythmic pattern that curves gracefully upward along the sides, cradling the plush cushions. A sleek, curved steel frame with short legs provides strong support.

    Price is for the set but we could sell them separately.
