- Dimensions: Open: 21.5" wide x 17.25" deep x 2" high; Closed: 17.25" wide x 10.75" deep x 4" high
- This beautiful backgammon set was made in France at the beginning of the 20th century and is a special example of an original marquetry board in very good condition.
- The inlaid wood gameboard was crafted by hand from solid walnut using traditional tongue and groove methods. Its brass hinges open to reveal a chess or checkerboard on its reverse side.
- Sourced in Provence, this set dates from a time when every sidewalk cafe and bistro kept a backgammon board for patrons' use. Decades of enjoyment have left this piece with a rich history and patina.
- This board comes with 30 French olive wood playing pieces, patinated leather die cups, and 2 sets of dice.
