  • Description
We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer a classic floral still life rose painting by the early Austrian-American Impressionist Franz Bischoff. This large, impressive work is by a renowned early Southern California artist who became famous for his expressive use of color and brilliant brushwork.

This elegant painting absolutely bursts with life and the colors are glorious, rich, and deeply saturated, including hues of pale pink, coral and vermillion. This fine example of his talent also perfectly expresses the immediacy and joyousness of the Impressionist style. We can see that the paint is applied thickly, confidently, and generously. The brushstrokes merely suggest the organic forms of the blooms, and these visual elements all work in unison to make a strong visual statement that affects our emotions in a way that is uplifting and powerful.
