Frédérique Bachellerie is a distinguished textile artist known for her innovative and avant-garde tapestries. Born to a Hungarian father and a French mother, she has been living in Paris since 1968. A graduate of the School of Applied Arts at the University of Santiago, she honed her skills in renowned workshops before founding her own studio, Atelier 3, in 1972. Bachellerie’s work is celebrated for its dynamic interplay of forms, materials, and colors, creating expressive pieces that blur the line between figuration and abstraction. Her tapestries, inspired by both commissioned projects and her own designs, are noted for their vibrant, tactile quality and artistic depth. -
